About Samantha Alaniz

Hi, I’m Samantha Alaniz, M.Ed., LPC-A, and I’m the Latina therapist behind Grateful Mind Counseling, PLLC. I’m passionate about creating a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to grow.

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and practical. I believe that therapy should not only be a place to process emotions, but also a place where you gain real-life tools you can use outside of sessions. I work alongside my clients to help them make sense of their experiences, recognize patterns, and develop healthier ways of coping and communicating.

I specialize in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), an evidence-based approach that focuses on emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness. Whether you are feeling overwhelmed by intense emotions, struggling with anxiety, or noticing patterns in your relationships that you want to change, therapy can help you feel more in control and confident in your daily life.
